Sailing roundtrip from Vancouver, this 7-night Alaska cruise aboard the Ruby Princess brought together jaw-dropping scenery, rich cultural history, and thrilling family excursions. From rockfish tacos and glacier gardens in Juneau to breathtaking summit views in Skagway and ziplining through rainforest canopies in Ketchikan, each port delivered unforgettable memories. With scenic cruising through Endicott Arm and plenty of onboard fun, it was the perfect mix of discovery and downtime for a traveling family.

The journey began with a train ride from Seattle to Vancouver before boarding the Ruby Princess. After setting sail, the first full day at sea offered time to relax, explore the ship, and ease into vacation mode. Day three brought the family to Juneau, where a locally guided tour included a stop at the Alaska State Museum, stunning photo ops from Douglas Island, a walk through the whimsical Glacier Gardens Rainforest, and fish-ladder views at the Macaulay Hatchery—topped off with rockfish tacos downtown.

In Skagway, the family took a scenic drive along the South Klondike Highway to the White Pass Summit, crossed into the Yukon, and conquered the Yukon Suspension Bridge, taking in epic views and wildlife. Then came a morning of awe-inspiring views as the ship sailed through Endicott Arm to see Dawes Glacier, where seals rested on ice floes and chunks calved dramatically into the sea.

The next stop was Ketchikan, where the day was packed with adrenaline and beauty during the Canopy Zipline & Rainforest Ropes Adventure in the Tongass National Forest. Zipping through treetops and climbing towers gave everyone a new perspective on Alaska’s wild beauty.

A final sea day gave the family time to rest, play, and enjoy the ship’s amenities before disembarking back in Vancouver and heading home via train.

This Alaska cruise blended wonder, adventure, and togetherness at every turn. From glaciers to zip lines, the memories made as a family will last far longer than the photos—and that’s saying something.
